TEXT AND ASSET PAGE TEMPLATES
Text and asset pages have a two-column layout, with a text area in the left-hand column and a media asset in the right-hand column.
The text column is a useful way of conveying information introducing concepts or subjects, e.g. as an introduction page to a module, a summary page, etc.
You have a choice of three different page templates in this range, each of which uses a different type of media asset in the right-hand column:
1. Image* - you can upload a JPEG, GIF or PNG image file. With the ubiquity of smartphones these days it's easy to take your own high quality photos or you may want to use an online image bank.
2. Audio - you can upload an MP3 audio file and an accompanying image file*. You can also capture high quality audio files using most smartphones these days.
3. HTML5 - if you have the skills to create an interactive asset using Hype software you can upload this type of asset as a zip file.
* If you don't have an image to upload, an image specific to you (e.g. your logo) will be used instead.
Downloads
Optionally you can add downloadable documents, using the Page downloads tab, to any of these page templates. Downloadable documents will appear at the bottom of the content page underneath your main content.
FULL WIDTH CONTENT PAGE TEMPLATES
Full width content pages allow you to use the maximum width area of the page to deliver your content (975 pixels).
There are four types of page to choose from:
1. Text - this presents text in a one column layout using the full width of the page. You can also upload images to appear inline within the text (using the 'Insert image' function in the text editor), but please remember to left or right align them so that the surrounding text wraps around the image appropriately.
The full width text can also be used to embed content from sharing media sites, e.g. SlideShare, Prezi, Issuu, etc. To do this simply copy and paste the embed code from your sharing media site, select 'Tools' from the drop down menu in the text editor toolbar and then select '<>Source code'. A pop-up will appear where you can paste your embed code, select 'OK' in the pop-up and save your page.
2. Image - this allows you to upload a large image (in JPEG, PNG or GIF format) that will fill the width of the page (975 pixels). Don't worry if the width of your image is larger than 975 pixels, as the system will automatically reduce the width and height of your image appropriately. Optionally, you can add text content above and/or below your image.
3. Video - this allows you to add a video from a video streaming site, e.g. YouTube, Vimeo, Vzaar, etc. Simply copy and paste the embed code from your video streaming site and paste it into the Video field. Don't worry about the dimensions of your video, they will automatically be adjusted to fill the width of the page, with the height also adjusted proportionately.
4. HTML5 - if you have the skills to create an interactive asset using Hype software you can upload this type of asset as a zip file.
Downloads
Optionally you can add downloadable documents, using the Page downloads tab, to any of these page templates. Downloadable documents will appear at the bottom of the content page underneath your main content.
